LISLE, Ill.

Molex Incorporated is pleased to honor both driver Nelson Piquet of Brazil for his first place finish and the NEXTEV TCR team of China for its fourth place finish in the FIA Formula E Championship, the world’s first fully-electric racing series. Mouser Electronics and Molex have been a proud sponsor of NEXTEV TCR (formerly China Racing) as it competed in the 10-city tour, which kicked off September 13, 2014 in Beijing and ended in London on June 27, 2015. Molex applauds Piquet, who just signed a multi-year deal to remain with NEXTEV TCR, for securing the driver title with a total of 144 points and receiving the most FanBoost votes.

“The NEXTEV TCR team proved to be highly talented and dedicated to not only delivering strong performances but elevating the status of electric vehicles to the racing community and the world at large. We congratulate the entire group and send a special message to Nelson Piquet for his first place finish in what was a thrilling inaugural racing series,” said Fred Bell, vice president, distribution, Molex. “Molex was very excited to support the NEXTEV TCR racing team throughout this experience and we continue to be committed to developing interconnect solutions that help advance the entire automotive industry.”

Some examples of Molex automotive solutions include the CMC Connection System, used in powertrain applications including engine-control units (ECU’s), compartment applications, gearboxes, electronic parking brakes and suspension controllers; MX150™ Sealed Connector System which supports low-level signal and power applications for on-engine automotive applications and Stac64™ connectors, which offer a diverse range of circuit sizes to address the growing electronic device requirements within today’s vehicles.
