Mobil 1 and Mobil Delvac 1 Brands Increase Support for NASCAR Race to Green Initiative

RICHMOND, Va.

For the second consecutive season, Mobil 1™ – which proudly serves as the Official Lubricant Technology Partner of NASCAR^® – will support the NASCAR Race to Green™ initiative as an official program partner.

Building on last year’s conversion of NASCAR’s fleet-and-service vehicles to fuel-efficient motor oils, Mobil 1 will expand its participation in the program and begin offering lubricant and fuel-efficiency technology capabilities to the vehicles and generators of the NASCAR TV broadcast compound. The broadcast compound consists of 36 generators and 50+ vehicles, including tractor trailers and golf carts. ExxonMobil motor oils with fuel efficiency benefits include Mobil 1™ Advanced Fuel Economy, which can help increase engine efficiency and improve fuel economy by up to 2 percent*, and Mobil Delvac 1™ LE 5W-30, which is shown to enhance fuel economy potential in heavy-duty diesel engines**.

In 2014, as a first-time NASCAR Race to Greenpartner, Mobil 1 began converting NASCAR’s 72 fleet-and-service vehicles and 36 power generators to Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy and Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W-30. This collection of vehicles included the Air Titan 2 track-drying systems, which received Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy, as well as several diesel haulers that were converted to Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W-30.

To broaden ExxonMobil’s support of NASCAR Race to Green, Tony Stewart’s No. 14 Mobil 1/Bass Pro Shops Chevy SS will be adorned with a special Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy logo on the vehicle’s rear panel during the TOYOTA OWNERS 400 on Saturday, April 25.

“In four seasons working with ExxonMobil, our entire Stewart-Haas Racing team has seen significant efficiency and performance benefits on the race track, helping us to two Sprint Cup Series championships,” said Stewart. “Mobil 1 lending this same lubricant technology expertise to the NASCAR Green program is important as we work to improve sustainability in racing.”

Additionally, Mobil 1 is backing NASCAR Race to Green’s recently launched carbon calculator. The green educational tool, created by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, will live on the NASCAR Green website and help racing fans understand their carbon footprint. The tool will also offer a variety of actions to reduce one’s carbon footprint, as well as efficiency and conservation tips from top NASCAR Race to Green partners, including Mobil 1.
