SUWANEE, Ga.

News coverage of potential airborne lead contamination at gun ranges has increased over the past several months, heightening the importance of clean and healthy range design practices.

At this year’s NRA Fall Range Conference in Kansas City, Mo., Oct. 3-6, Meggitt Training Systems is launching its recently developed “10 Commandments of Clean and Healthy Range Design,” as well as the design, equipment and installation of live-fire shooting ranges. Meggitt’s resources are geared both toward first-time range designers as well as owners seeking to upgrade or maintain existing systems and ranges.

“Meggitt Training Systems has a long history of developing indoor shooting ranges to facilitate lead abatement,” said Tim Holley, director of live fire, Meggitt Training Systems. “When carefully followed, the ‘10 Commandments of Clean and Healthy Range Design’ improve environmental range safety, while covering the health and safety spectrum. From zoning and location to lead abatement, containment and proper ventilation, Meggitt is able to serve as a one-stop shop during the entire range construction process.”

Meggitt Training Systems representatives will be available for meetings at the NRA Fall Range Conference.
