Larson Electronics Releases a 1000 Watt Metal Halide Light Fixture with External Ballast

Larson Electronics announces the release of a 1,000 watt metal halide light fixture equipped with external ballast. Constructed of die cast aluminum and U.L. listed for marine use, this fixture includes a remote ballast within a NEMA enclosure.

The HALPRM-1000WMH-EB metal halide light fixture is weatherproof and suitable for use in wet, outdoor and marine environments. The lamp housing is weatherproof and constructed of pressure cast copper free aluminum with an architectural bronze polyester finish. The lens door is pressure-cast copper-free aluminum and secured with ¼” diameter captive stainless steel slotted hex-head bolts. The lamp socket is a specification grade mogul base porcelain unit with heavy gauge brass, a nickel-plated, double lamp-grip screw shell and spring-loaded center contact. By removing the ballast from the fixture and mounting it in the external NEMA enclosure, the weight of the fixture is reduced, making it easier to mount at height. This 1,000 watt metal halide fixture is highly durable and produces 110,000 lumens in a wide flood pattern, and has a maximum operating temperature of 325°C. This hazardous area light is IP65, U.L. standard 844 and 1598 compliant, approved Class 1 Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D, and U.L. listed 1598A for outdoor salt water marine environments. The integral multi-tap ballast is protected within the weatherproof housing and has primary electrical taps for 120, 208, 240, and 277 volts. This lamp is suitable for use in areas where flammable petrochemical vapors are sometimes present in a non-confined, open air work space and is not suitable for use in confined spaces.
