Krylon® Sponsors the ‘World’s Longest Yard Sale’

August 5, 2015 | By Business Wire News

CLEVELAND

Beginning on August 6th, the Krylon Crew will take to highway 127 and embark on the 690 mile journey known as the World’s Longest Yard Sale or, as it is more commonly called, the 127 Yard Sale. Leaving no rust-covered watering can, antique lamp or ancient milk-jug unturned, the Krylon Crew will breathe new life into objects of yesteryear to turn ordinary yard sale items into extraordinary treasures.

Navigating the route through Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan, an estimated 100,000 shoppers will have access to approximately 5,000 vendors setting up shop for the four-day event. Along the way, the Krylon Crew, traveling the route in the Krylon Truck, will meet vendors, find great deals and make a total of 127 old items like new again using Krylon COVERMAXX™, Krylon SUPERMAXX™ and other unique Krylon products and finishes.

The Krylon Crew will be led by American furniture designer, carpenter, television personality and design blogger, Amy Devers. Amy is currently the host and design expert on A&E’s Fix This Yard, Victory Garden’s edibleFEAST on PBS as well as a design and carpentry expert on OWN’s Home Made Simple.

“What better way to showcase the versatility and breadth of Krylon products than on-the-spot restorations of found objects at the world’s longest yard sale,” says Ian L. Gresham, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Sherwin-Williams Co. Diversified Brands. “Sponsoring the 127 Yard Sale ties perfectly with our new ‘yard sale hijack’ ad campaign and truly drives home our message of ‘making it yours’ with a simple spray of paint.”

On August 10th, after the conclusion of the 127 Yard Sale, all 127 items transformed by the Krylon Crew will be available for sale on Pinterest in the first-ever Pinterest Yard Sale. All proceeds from these sales will benefit the nonprofit organization Charity Wings. To check out the Pinterest Yard Sale, go to www.krylon127yardsale.com.

Come Along for the Ride

Krylon is inviting yard sale fanatics near and far to participate in the fun by following Krylon’s Facebook and Twitter pages and tagging their favorite moments from the 127 Yard Sale with #Krylon127YardSale. Krylon’s route will be mapped on the Krylon 127 Yard Sale website and on-the-ground shoppers are encouraged to stop by and restore their new purchases on-site with the Krylon Crew.
