Knittreat makes its debut in Tucson, Arizona at the JW Marriott Starr Pass resort featuring author Kristin Hansen

TUCSON, Ariz., April 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Elaine Smith is hosting a knitting and crochet retreat in the lovely mountains of Tucson. It will be 3 days and nights filled with classes, fiber, good company, shopping, fashion show and the best teachers the area has to offer.
The Knittreat will feature Kristin Hansen, Jill Holbrook, Jessica Anderson, Deb Dorrell and Nancy Chastain.
Kristin Hansen is author of several knitting books, including “Glamour and Glow”, “Sparkle Fine” and “Perfectly Plus.” Kristin has designed a shawl pattern exclusively for the Tucson Knittreat! Jill Holbrook also has a design published in SpinOff magazine. Jill is a teacher, weaver, spinner. Her work has been exhibited at Intermountain Weavers Conference, SpinOff’s Autumn retreat. Jessica Anderson has done sample knitting for Blue Sky Alpaca. Jessica has been published in Petite Purls by Spud and Chloe, Dream in Color, and several self published patterns on Ravelry and Craftsy.
Deb Dorrell wil be teaching a continental knitting class and crochet classes. Nancy Chastain teaches jewelry making in her Tucson studio and at the Gem Mall.
While knitting and crocheting have gone in and out of fashion, the 21(st) century has seen a new interest. There have been many new additions to the fiber content of the new yarns, including bamboo, silk, alpaca, cottons and many exotic blends.
There will be a market place from local vendors set up at the 2015 Knittreat. Fiesta Yarns will be a sponsor and will be selling their yarn at the market place. Fiesta Yarns will also be featuring a trunk show. See many articles knit and crochet with the great yarn. Universal Yarn is sponsoring a class for Kristin Hansen.
The retreat will be held on Aug 6-8, 2015. Included in the retreat, all meals, classes, and hotel. Come for a relaxing weekend and meet with other knitters and crocheters.
