Judit Gueth named winner of Spoonflower’s Design Challenge

DURHAM, N.C., May 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — On April 28th, Judit Gueth was named the winner of Spoonflower’s design challenge in collaboration with Sprout Patterns. Gueth’s winning design, “Japanese Garden Pink,” will be featured in the launch of Named Clothing’s Asaka Kimono pattern, the first in this patternmaker’s lineup available through SproutPatterns.com, a service that combines independent clothing patterns with Spoonflower designs to create modern cut and sew projects. Gueth’s winnings also include $100 in Spoonflower credit and $100 in Sprout credit.

The month-long design challenge invited participants to create a design specifically for Named Clothing’s Asaka Kimono in the visual theme of “Japanese garden.” Gueth’s design gleaned the most votes from a pool of over 700 unique entries.

“The Japanese garden prompt got me excited right away,” shared Gueth, “I love the garden theme and Japanese design motifs-especially the animals, Japanese woodblock prints and fabrics. It was a funny coincidence that I received my brown belt in karate the night before I found out that my design was the winning design.”

Spoonflower design challenges give designers of all skill levels an opportunity to compete based on a surprise design prompt for a chance at career-changing exposure.
