iQagent Launches Microsoft Compatible App

May 11, 2015 | By Business Wire News

ALPHARETTA, Ga.

iQagent, an award winning augmented reality mobile app for the manufacturing and industrial industries, today announced the release of the Microsoft compatible version.

iQagent, released in 2012, was created originally for iOS to display data and resources associated with equipment it ‘recognizes’ on the plant floor. With more tablets available that are compatible with Microsoft, it became necessary to create a Windows-based version. Knowing that manufacturing plants are 97% integrated with Microsoft Windows software, manufacturers are able to get more out of their investment using iQagent.

“We released the Microsoft version because there is a demand for tablets that can integrate with all systems. With the Windows 8.1 release, there are no problems,” says Bob Meads, CEO of iQagent. “It works seamlessly with existing plant floor systems and the Microsoft version is what our customers have been asking for.”

“Having the app available now in the new Microsoft platform is better,” said Alan Libby, Business Unit Manager at Wunderlich Malec. “It gives our engineers the ability to streamline our quality process further and allows a cleaner and easier integration.”

The Microsoft version encompasses the same functionality of the iOS version, however will include the following features:

  • Integrates with Microsoft tablets that are Class 1 Division 2 certified for use in hazardous environments.
  • Eliminates any connection problems to maintenance systems on the plant floor.
  • Users are able to customize the appearance of points of interest (POIs) by altering the color, transparency, and font sizes.
  • Provides a tool to resolve downtime issues faster through better communication.
  • Uses QR codes to instantly display equipment schematics, procedures and live process data.

iQagent is available for download on the Windows store. To download the app, click here.
