Intertek’s Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Certification Added to U.S. Green Building Council’s List of Accredited Programs for LEED v4 Low-Emitting Materials

Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries around the world, has been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for its volatile organic compound (VOC) certification program. With this recognition, the company’s ETL Environmental VOC Mark for indoor air quality has been added to USGBC’s list as an acceptable certification program for the LEED v4 Low-Emitting Materials Credit.

Intertek’s ETL Environmental VOC Mark illustrates that products such as flooring, furniture, drywall, paint, foam insulation and other building materials meet acceptable VOC limits. As a USGBC-listed certification, any product bearing an ETL Environmental VOC Mark automatically qualifies for Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ) credits for LEED certification with the USGBC, without needing to take additional steps for validation. In addition to new products receiving certification, hundreds of products that have been certified with the ETL Environmental VOC Mark are now eligible for these IEQ credits.
