Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) today announced that its rental location in Hammond, IN received Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star certification from Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration (IOSHA). VPP Star is OSHA’s highest recognition for the practice of and commitment to exemplary occupational safety and health.

“We are extremely proud of our Hammond employee-partners and their managers for earning the esteemed OSHA VPP Star Award,” stated Rick Gerlach, Sr. Director of Safety and Health. “At Cintas our partners care deeply about each other and every partner is focused on being safe and making sure that everyone goes home to their loved ones at the end of the day safe and sound.”

The Hammond location, which employs 115 people, is the 26th Cintas facility in the United States to receive VPP Star designation since 2011. The location began its journey toward VPP designation in 2014, by actively engaging in the on-going training, rigorous audits and collaboration between management and employee-partners required to earn this prestigious award.

“We have a strong safety culture and our employee-partners initiated this journey. As we read news of other Cintas locations around the country starting to certify as VPP Star, we asked, “Why not us?,” said Jason Rieger, General Manager of the Hammond Rental location. “Team work and dedicated employee-partners helped us achieve this outstanding recognition.”

Cintas Corporation has approximately 330 facilities throughout the world actively pursuing VPP recognition by OSHA or the equivalent under a similar certifying body. This includes operations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Honduras.
