IHS CERAWeek Selects Alphabet Energy as a 2015 Energy Innovation Pioneer

Alphabet Energy, the global leader in thermoelectrics for waste heat recovery, today announced that it has been named an Energy Innovation Pioneer by IHS Energy and will be featured at CERAWeek, the preeminent international gathering of energy industry leaders, experts, innovators and policymakers.

Now in its 10th year, the Energy Innovation Pioneers program recognizes companies and CEOs who are developing technologies and delivering products to transform the energy future. IHS analysts screened hundreds of energy companies from around the world and named Alphabet Energy and 16 other companies to its list based on the companies’ invention and creativity, feasibility and timeliness, scalability and quality of management team.

Last month, the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory and ICF International released the Waste Heat to Power Market Assessment. The report outlines cost improvement opportunities for U.S. industry, including the fact that gas pipeline operators in the U.S. could generate over 1,100,000 kWe from the exhaust heat lost in pipeline operations. Poised to reap more benefits from waste heat recovery than any other state, Texas-based industry could generate more than 1,500,000 kWe from its exhaust.
