FLEXcon Shares Industry Insights with Customers in Southwest U.S. and Mexico

October 5, 2015 | By Business Wire News

SPENCER, Mass.

FLEXcon, an innovator in adhesive coating and laminating, hosted two customer seminar events which brought together regional customers across the Southwest U.S. and Mexico to discuss FLEXcon’s offerings, share industry knowledge and gain insights related to the durable products market.

“At FLEXcon, we are committed to providing our customers with unparalleled support and innovative solutions,” said Ron Ducharme, product manager, FLEXcon. “These seminars created a collaborative environment where customers of all sizes had the opportunity to learn about and share with each other the offerings and trends in the durable products market. We are pleased that customers left the event feeling empowered to engage with new opportunities, and confident in the support that FLEXcon will continue to provide.”

The events, held last week in McAllen and El Paso, Texas, served as a forum to discuss the industry trends that are impacting customers’ businesses, including laser die cutting, the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for drum labeling and the growth of digital platforms. The sessions helped customers better understand these technologies and standards to ultimately enable them to improve their processes and reach new markets. The members of this regional audience indicated that the seminars filled a need for them that has been unmet up until now, to learn more about working with pressure-sensitive films and the latest technology innovations in the industry.

There was a consensus among attendees that the relationships FLEXcon fosters with co-suppliers and regulatory agencies go a long way toward increasing ROI for customers by making product selection easier and facilitating compliance. This is especially true of FLEXcon’s work with UL on its improved model for product adoptions, as well as work with ribbon manufacturers such as ITW Security and Brand Identity Group to create a combination of drum label materials and resin thermal transfer ribbons that pass BS 5609 Section 2 durability standards in compliance with GHS. There was also a lot of buzz around advancements in the dual head digital printing market and FLEXcon’s work with Printer OEMs such as MICROPLEX and cab to ensure the compatibility of their products with those printers for GHS compliant drum labels.

In addition, customers learned about the company’s partnership with Spartanics, one of North America’s top manufacturers of laser cutting systems as well as other industrial automation products, which provides customers complete and ready-to-operate solutions for label and parts finishing. Customers also discussed how laser die cutting and digital printing solutions have allowed them to maximize profits by offering flexibility, enabling them to seamlessly convert short and long run jobs while minimizing material waste and job turnover times.
