CINCINNATI

Recently Cintas Corporation along with Fifth Third Bank, Ernst & Young, and The Nielsen Company sponsored the second annual Push Yourself|Pull Others Leadership event at the Cintas Center at Xavier University. The event was presented in collaboration with Agenda 360’s Diverse by DesignTM initiative and brought together more than 300 professionals from 24 different organizations. The mission of this unique program was to provide a forum for discussing and sharing ideas on pushing one’s own career while also pulling up the next generation to help position them for career success.

“This is an event that was initiated by our Women’s Business Resource Group last year and one that we look forward to coordinating every year,” said Robin Everhart, Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer at Cintas Corporation. “The goal is for the attendees to interact with a phenomenal group of professionals and to take away at least one or two things to immediately apply to positively impact their career and the community.”

Keynote speaker Candace McGraw, Chief Executive Officer of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) spoke about leadership lessons she learned over the course of her career and shared some savvy career advice.

A panel moderated by Mary Stagaman, Executive Director of Agenda 360, included executives from Macy’s, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, The Nielsen Company and Western & Southern Financial Group. The panelists shared their career journeys and provided advice on career advancement. The program also included breakout sessions focused on assessing and correcting any gaps in necessary skills for career advancement as well as how to create executive presence.

“As we work to create the diverse and culturally competent workforce our region will need for the future, the importance of advancing women all the way to the executive suite cannot be overstated,” said Stagaman. “Push|Pull offers attendees the opportunity to connect with their peers; to meet and learn from experienced executives; and to walk away with tools and resources to advance their careers.”

Proceeds from the event were donated directly to support The Women’s Fund of Greater Cincinnati. The Women’s Fund’s mission is to lead the community in ensuring the economic self-sufficiency of women in the Cincinnati region and igniting a shared desire to improve it.
