August 13, 2015 | By PRN NewsWire
BROOKLYN, N.Y., Aug. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Brooklyn-based startup footwear brand Inkkas has just announced the launch of its first e-commerce crowdfunding campaign today on http://www.inkkas.com. No stranger to the crowdfunding technique, Inkkas has previously launched two incredibly successful Kickstarter Campaigns in 2013 and 2014 respectively, which brought in record revenue for the brand. This time, the brand has decided to include its fans in the design process for their latest 2016 Global Jogger Collection. Inkkas is encouraging fans to “vote” on which style they like the most by making a financial pledge that will go toward funding the production of that particular style. Whichever joggers pass the threshold of funding for the campaign will be produced by Inkkas and offered up for sale to the general public after the crowdfunding campaign ends. By letting the fans vote/pledge towards the newest styles, Inkkas is allowing its followers to be a part of an innovative design and manufacturing process.

Inspired by his travels all over the globe, CEO and Founder of Inkkas Shoes, Dan Ben-Nun drew on his love of culture when creating the Global Jogger line. “Traveling has always been my passion and I wanted to incorporate that love for discovering new cultures and people into our footwear,” noted Ben-Nun. With references to Japan, Brooklyn, Morocco, Brazil and American culture, the newest collection from Inkkas is fashion forward, socially conscious and perfect for the fall 2016 market.
Fans will be able to get involved in the crowdfunding process by voting and purchasing styles on http://www.inkkas.com starting on August 11th and ending on September 10th. Each style must reach a funding goal of $3,500 before it will be sent into production. Customers will not be charged until the shoe style hits the minimum requirement and the campaign for the style ends. Each campaign will last for approximately 30 days. All successfully funded styles will ship to those who pledge for them about 60 days after the campaign ends. They will also be made available for sale to the general public throughout the Winter of 2015 and Spring of 2016.
About Inkkas:
Inspired by a backpacking trip through South America, Daniel Ben-Nun brought Inkkas to market in 2012. He stumbled upon local artisans with bright and distinct textiles and knew that there was a place in the fashion industry for handmade, socially conscious shoes that gave the customer an opportunity to give back. For every pair of Inkkas purchased, the brand works via the OneShoeOneTree(TM) Project to plant a tree to fight against deforestation and encourage responsible agricultural practices. In addition to their collaboration with the OneShoeOneTree(TM) Project, Inkkas also works with Soles4Souls to donate large quantities of shoes, and is a certified B Corporation. Inkkas started off with only a few colorful sneakers and has since exploded on the footwear scene with vintage inspired joggers, huaraches, camping boots and the anticipated arrival this coming fall of their suede chukkas. Known for their comfort, style and durability, Inkkas are now sold in J.Crew, Nordstrom, Forever 21 as well as 25 countries across the world and boutiques throughout the United States.
