Fall is Funny: LOFT and Busy Philipps Team Up for Comedy Shorts

By PRN NewsWire

NEW YORK, Sept. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — LOFT, the clothing brand known for its modern, feminine clothing, has teamed up with actress Busy Philipps (Cougar Town, Freaks and Geeks, Dawson’s Creek) to create two 60-second comedy shorts. “First Day” launches on September 24, followed by “Fall is Hot” October 8. The videos, directed by Philipps, explore the humorous situations that come up during the fall season.

“First Day” flips the roles of daughter and mother and has Philipps’ real-life daughter, Birdie, see her off to her first day of work by helping her decide on the perfect first day outfit. “Fall is Hot” pokes fun at an overeager love of all things fall while it’s still crazy hot outside.

The videos mark the directing debut of Philipps’ first independent project. She came up with the concepts and also selected the writers and producers for the films.

“After directing an episode of Cougar Town last year, I’ve been eager to get behind the camera again. Partnering with LOFT was a very fun way for me to try my hand at directing stories in a shorter format. The process was so collaborative — working with two writers I love, we were able to incorporate my concepts into what I hope are fun little pieces that stand on their own,” Philipps said.
