Engility recognized for strong veterans hiring program and commitment to transitioning service members

December 23, 2015 | By Business Wire News

CHANTILLY, Va.

Engility Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:EGL), today announced it has been named a 2016 Military Friendly® Employer and earned a Top 100 designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs® and Military Spouse. Victory Media annually recognizes companies with strong military recruitment programs and job opportunities for transitioning service members and spouses.

“Earning recognition as a military friendly organization reflects Engility’s enduring commitment to veterans and the military community,” said Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility President and CEO. “We are proud that veterans make up 23 percent of Engility’s workforce and value the experience they bring to our company.”

Engility is dedicated to hiring and retaining top talent, including transitioning service members and veterans. As an organization with employees embedded in the federal government, including the military branches, Engility actively supports military-focused and veteran organizations such as Building Homes for Heroes, the Wounded Warriors Project and the Fisher House.

Earlier this year, Engility hosted a variety of employee events and collected online donations to support Building Homes for Heroes (BHH), an organization dedicated to providing refurbished homes to U.S. military veterans severely wounded in battle. Engility supported BHH’s home renovation for U.S. Army Specialist Hugo Gonzalez, who was severely wounded in Iraq in June 2004 and has undergone multiple operations and medical procedures since he was injured. Through the employees’ generosity and a company match, Engility donated $28,000 to support the renovation effort, and Spec. Gonzalez and his family moved into a completely refurbished, mortgage-free home in September.
