NASHVILLE, Tenn.

EFT Source, a CPI Card Group company, announced that in January-April 2015, more than 528,000 new cards were issued via its EMV-capable instant issuance solution, Card@Once effectively doubling the total number of cards printed during same time a year ago.

Additionally, EFT Source reports that Card@Once printed more than 40,000 cards during a single week in April (representing a year-over-year increase of more than 147 percent for the same week in 2014) and the total number of cards printed January-April this year represents nearly half the total of all cards printed in 2014. To support this level of market adoption, EFT Source has increased the number of active Card@Once machines deployed by more than 160 percent year-over-year.

“Previously, the adoption of Card@Once has been driven by financial institutions seeking to reduce operational expenses and increase interchange revenue by delivering a card within seconds from the branch environment,” said Bill Dinker, President of EFT Source. “Beyond the traditional benefits of instant issuance, we are seeing more of our customers leverage Card@Once to actively deliver chip cards, thus supporting banks’ and credit unions’ EMV initiatives as the industry prepares for the migration in October.”
