PITTSBURGH

Power management company Eaton today announced it is providing cost effective control solutions for Northwind Air Systems’ DuroVac industrial vacuum systems that reduce engineering and delivery time by nearly 50 percent. Eaton is providing the engineering, electrical components and assembly for the control panels used with Northwind’s industrial vacuums systems.

“With Eaton’s engineering approach and equipment, we reduced the time it takes to configure and build our control panels from eight weeks to four weeks or less. This gives us a powerful business advantage and helps address a critical customer need,” said Kevin Weaver, president at Northwind Air Systems.

Eaton has worked with Northwind Air Systems to develop motor starter control cabinets since 2013 and is now developing the next generation of enclosed control panels for its industrial vacuums. Through Eaton’s unique approach, Northwind Air Systems is able to quickly configure and cost control panel equipment that meets specific application requirements through a proprietary software solution that simplifies the ordering process and helps expedite the design, engineering, drawings and delivery of the control cabinet.

“Eaton works with original equipment manufacturers globally to simplify and expedite solutions,” said Loreto Persichetti, components products marketing manager, Eaton. “The collaboration with Northwind Air Systems demonstrates our commitment to helping customers globalize their businesses, from concept to delivery.”

DuroVac industrial vacuums’ customized control cabinets incorporate Eaton components, including contactors, starters, soft starters, programmable relays and other control and automation solutions that meet specific commercial or industrial application requirements. Eaton provides pre-engineering support and a flexible design process that addresses customers’ requirements, production time and facilitates engineering drawings to expedite the overall process. The assemblies are designed to meet either National Electric Code (NEC) or International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.

Northwind Air Systems provides a complete line of tough, continuous duty portable and central vacuum systems and accessories. With more than 30 years of direct application experience, Northwind Air Systems offers practical solutions for virtually any type of industrial vacuum system.
