NEW YORK, June 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — The Worldwide Leasing & Sales Team of Faith Hope Consolo at Douglas Elliman arranged a lease for the sixth New York location of Amsterdam-based apparel group Scotch & Soda at 416 Columbus Avenue, on the southwest corner of 80th Street, in Manhattan.

Scotch & Soda’s corner retail completes the tenancy of the building, which now includes jeweler Alexis Bittar, bocnyc, Pure Barre, and Bit’z Kids, from Japan.

The deal comes as Scotch & Soda expands its presence in New York City under experienced U.S. chief executive officer Ari Hoffman.

In April, Scotch & Soda signed a lease to open a new store in the Seaport District. The brand already has three stores in Manhattan, including inside the former Cafe Angelique on Bleecker Street, which opened a year ago, and a fourth in Brooklyn, inside the Whole Foods building at 126 N 4th St., which opened last fall.

Scotch & Soda now counts more than 200 stores worldwide.

Scotch & Soda was acquired by Sun Capital Partners fashion unit Kellwood Co., owner of fashion brands Rebecca Taylor, Parker, Devlin, Briggs NY, Democracy, Jax, Sangria, Jolt, Rewind, My Michelle, Baby Phat, Phat Farm and Sag Harbor.

Hoffman was president and CEO of Benetton’s U.S. operations and had been the U.S. CEO of Gant, after working for Yves Saint Laurent for many years.

“We’ve worked with Ari at Benetton and Gant and were excited to help give shape to Scotch & Soda’s expansion in Manhattan,” said Faith Hope Consolo, Chairman of the Worldwide Leasing & Sales Team at Douglas Elliman. “This corner space will fit the brand and I think the traffic along this corridor will bring Scotch & Soda to a new audience on the Upper West Side.”

The Worldwide Leasing & Sales Team at Douglas Elliman exclusively represented both the landlord and the tenant in the transaction.

Recognized worldwide as the “Queen of Retail,” Faith Hope Consolo is sought out for her expertise as a consultant and retail broker, playing a major role in revitalizing and sculpting retail corridors in New York and around the world. As chairman of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group, she is responsible for the most successful commercial division of New York’s largest residential real estate brokerage firm.
