KELLWOOD COMPANY ANNOUNCES SALE OF AMERICAN RECREATION PRODUCTS

Kellwood Company, LLC announced today that it has sold American Recreation Products, LLC (ARP) to Exxel Outdoors, LLC. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Boulder, Colo., ARP makes and sells outdoor equipment and apparel to improve every outdoor experience. Kellwood purchased ARP in 1988. Since then, ARP has continued to grow and broaden its range of product offerings.

As Kellwood Company continues to focus its mission on its core strengths of designing, manufacturing and distributing women’s, juniors’ and children’s apparel brands, ARP is no longer a strategic holding within Kellwood’s portfolio.

American Rec maintains a broad and growing range of authentic outdoor brands in equipment and apparel for the backyard camper to the high alpine expedition mountaineer. American Rec’s family of brands includes Kelty, Sierra Designs, Slumberjack, Wenzel, Ultimate Direction, Mountain Trails, and Instabed.
