CNI Gains ISO 20000-1 Certification

NORMAN, Okla.

Chickasaw Nation Industries, Inc. (CNI) announced today that it has been successful in attaining ISO/IEC 20000-1 standard certification for IT Service Management. The customer-focused global standard recognizes best practices for IT service management, and promotes an integrated process approach to ensure customer requirements for managed services are met in the most cost effective and efficient manner.

Until recently, there was no way for IT organizations to prove their working knowledge and compliance of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) recommendations. Conceived to fill this gap, the ISO 20000 standard was initiated by two organizations, itSMF (IT Service Management Forum) and BSI (British Standards Institution), and is modeled upon the principles of ITIL.

As part of the certification process, CNI underwent a comprehensive audit of its service management system including management responsibility, governance of processes operated by others, documentation management, resource management, and continuous improvement.
