TORONTO

CHEP, a global leader in supply chain management solutions, is one of Canada’s safest employers, according to Canadian Occupational Safety Magazine. CHEP Canada received the Silver Award for Canada’s Safest Employer in the Retail and Services Sector at a gala event in Toronto October 28, 2015 alongside several other leading Canadian companies.

Launched in 2011, Canada’s Safest Employers Awards recognize companies from all across Canada with outstanding accomplishments in promoting the health and safety of their workers. The award boasts 10 industry-specific categories, ranging from hospitality to mining and natural resources. Companies are judged on a wide range of occupational health and safety elements, including employee training, OHS management systems, incident investigation, emergency preparedness and innovative health and safety initiatives.

“We are honored to receive recognition of our safety efforts from such a highly regarded organization as Canadian Occupational Safety magazine,” said Marianne Plumb, President of CHEP Canada. “CHEP has always put the safety of its employees, customers and partners first, so everything we do starts and stops with a focus on ensuring that everyone associated with the company goes home from work in the same condition as they arrived.”

Brambles, CHEP’s corporate parent, has long been committed to operating safe and efficient facilities. The company implemented the Zero Harm program across its business units as a way to apply best occupational health, safety and environment practices for employees, contractors, customers and local communities. The Zero Harm program measures safety performance through metrics like work related injuries and modified duties to ensure that each unit understands the impact these incidents have on operations.
