Cartridge World Leads Movement to Improve Global Print Quality Standards

January 14, 2016 | By Business Wire News

With the ink barely dry following this summer’s sale of Cartridge World to Suzhou GoldenGreen Technologies (SGT) – the largest OPC manufacturer in the world – a large-scale effort is underway to guarantee the quality of affordable printer cartridges for consumers and business owners.

Spearheading the initiative is Steve Weedon, the new Global CEO of Cartridge World, the leading retail franchise of ink and toner, printers and other printing products and services. Weedon’s first step to enhance the quality of Cartridge World products was the launch of the Cartridge World Global Procurement Center in China, where a team of quality assurance specialists are charged with sourcing and testing products through a newly implemented “triple check” before being shipped.

“The new procurement center sets the industry standard for world-class quality assurance procedures for printer cartridges,” Weedon said. “As a result, franchisees in the Cartridge World system will receive superior quality products to retain their consumer and small business customers, while still maintaining a significant cost savings over competitors.”

Cartridge World is an iconic imaging aftermarket brand. Launched in Australia 20 years ago, it has evolved into a global business of more than 1,000 franchise locations in 50-plus countries worldwide. The quality standard initiative launched by the new management and ownership follows Cartridge World’s recent introduction of a new business model for franchisees. The model focuses on selling high-efficiency printers that use high-yield printer cartridges, and providing bundled printing services and office printing solutions for business customers. Cartridge World franchisees who have adopted this new model are benefitting from larger volume sales and ROI through long-term relationships with business customers.

Cartridge World is the leading ink and toner retailer and franchisor in the $80 billion printer cartridge industry. Stores offer customers a tremendous cost-saving alternative to printing, offering a 30-percent discount over full-priced OEM cartridges and a 100-percent satisfaction guarantee. Cartridge World has more than 1,200 franchised retail locations in over 50 countries.
