ARLINGTON, Va.

CACI International Inc (NYSE:CACI) announced today it was awarded a $38.5 million task order contract to provide Rapid Prototyping and Technology Insertion (RPTI) support to the Command, Power & Integration Directorate’s Prototyping, Integration and Testing Division (PI&TD) in support of the United States Army Communications-Electronics Research Development & Engineering Center (CERDEC), Space & Terrestrial Communications Directorate (S&TCD), Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Ground Activity (CGA). This five-year (one base year plus four options) new task order was issued under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for overall RPTI support that CACI was previously awarded in 2012, and represents a continuation of former work for CACI, reinforcing the company’s presence in its C4ISR market area.

CERDEC is an Army applied research center that actively advances soldier capabilities to enable situational awareness and understanding, establish and secure communications, and protect them from surprise attack. PI&TD supports a variety of C4ISR systems and systems integration programs, incorporating all aspects of prototype systems integration.

Under this task order, CACI will provide RPTI engineering, development, and analysis support – to include specific tasks such as systems engineering, architecture development, and integration. Essentially, CACI will help maintain CERDEC’s Field Based Risk Reduction (FBRR) assessments for future Army force C4ISR technologies.

John Mengucci, CACI’s Chief Operating Officer and President of U.S. Operations, said, “The unparalleled quality of CACI’s subject matter experts in previously carrying out this C4ISR mission and over 25 years of working with the Army Communications-Electronics Research Development & Engineering Center will enable us to provide the economies of scale needed to maximize efficiency of Rapid Prototyping and Technology Insertion operations for the customer.”

According to CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Asbury, “A major advantage CACI returns to this contract is its ability to leverage the services provided for the Communications-Electronics Research Development & Engineering Center C4ISR Ground Activity to assist other Army and joint military agencies by providing a trusted C4ISR assessment platforms for yet-unproven technologies that potentially better serve and protect the soldiers of the future.”
