Bretford® Ships Juice® Power System

As part of its charge to give people the power to learn, Bretford Manufacturing, Inc.®, a U.S.-based manufacturer of technology-enabled furniture for 21^st century learning and business environments, today announced it is now accepting orders for the Juice® Power System. Juice is the world’s first modular power system with magnetic Juice Connectors™ that provide an easy and safe method to connect power when reconfiguring furniture. Juice will be on display in the Bretford showroom (#355) during NeoCon, June 15-17 in Chicago, and in the Bretford booth (#2929) during ISTE, June 28-July 1 in Philadelphia.

Innovation in mobile technology is outpacing and outgrowing the infrastructure of many facilities, putting the need for power at an all-time high. Juice was developed to deliver power right to teams and their devices. The Juice work surface provides the ultimate in power flexibility with outlets or Juice Sleds™ that flip up, are interchangeable, or may be installed bi-directionally.

Juice is ideal for K-12, higher education and offices in applications ranging from modular classrooms to think tanks or anywhere mobile devices are used. A single wall outlet can provide power in up to six daisy-chained tables for as many as 16 mobile devices. This can be achieved without electrical hard wiring and without the clutter and dangers associated with the use of individual power strips.

Juice supports a variety of learning modalities that require flexible rooms and rapid reconfiguration so educators and professionals can arrange a space based specifically on their agenda. Located at the table edges, the magnetic Juice Connectors daisy-chain to connect power sources from one table to the next and safely break apart if tables are moved before the power is unplugged. Juice is also available in a stand-alone configuration to enable power in tables that do not need to be daisy-chained but may be upgraded and changed at a later date as power needs evolve.

At a glance, an amber LED indicates the table is powered and ready. If power is interrupted, the LED turns off but can easily be rebooted without the aid of facility maintenance. Each Juice Box™ features four interchangeable sleds, which offer both USB and AC outlets. This future-ready design provides adaptability as technology and power evolve.

Juice has been certified by Intertek to meet UL standards and is in compliance with CSA C22.2#203. The stand-alone power units are certified to UL standard 962A for furniture power distribution units. And the daisy-chain power units and components are certified to standard UL962 for household and commercial furnishing components. Juice is intended for mounting and connecting power units to specific Bretford tables and not intended for use in other applications.
