Global strategy and technology consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) today announced the appointment of Gary Voellger as Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. Voellger, a vice president at the firm, has more than 25 years of experience as a defense operations leader across all aspects of military aviation. Prior to being named Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, Voellger led Booz Allen’s work for the Air Force Network Integration Center, the Air Force’s Air Mobility Command, and the United States Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base.

During Voellger’s extensive career at Booz Allen, his responsibilities have included complex operational employment, market capture and C4ISR program management. He joined Booz Allen from the U.S. Air Force in 2002, where he retired as a Major General, having commanded four flying Wings and served as Deputy Assistant for Joint and National Security Council Matters.

Voellger, who succeeded Gale Smith in the role of Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer on April 1, reports to Booz Allen President and Chief Executive Officer Horacio Rozanski.

“Strong ethics, values, and workplace policies have been the foundation of Booz Allen’s business for more than a century, and they will be central to our success in the future,” said Rozanski. “These fundamental strengths of our institution are a point of pride for our more than 22,000 employees.”

Voellger commented: “At Booz Allen, ethics are a driver of, and requirement for, success. Maintaining the highest levels of ethics and professionalism starts at the individual level. I’ve often said that ‘no one can take away your integrity, but you can give it away.’ Strong ethics, and people taking pride in having strong character, makes for a strong firm.”

He added, “Our commitment to ethics is a tangible part of people’s daily lives. The firm’s Ethics Advisor program, comprised of advisors in the field, helps us ensure this focus.”

Voellger holds a B.S. degree from San Jose State University and an M.A. degree from Pepperdine University and is an active member of the Madison County Rebuilding Together Board of Directors and the Leadership Council of Southwest Illinois.
