SAN MATEO, Calif.

MobileMark® 2014 1.5, the latest version of the premier performance-qualified battery life metric based on real world applications was released today by the Business Application Performance Corporation (BAPCo®), a non-profit consortium of leading PC hardware, software and semiconductor manufacturers.

MobileMark 2014 1.5 extends the MobileMark family, alongside SYSmark® & TabletMark®, which have been widely accepted by IT Managers, PC OEMs, press and analysts worldwide. It provides commercial and government IT decision makers, media, analysts, retailers, channel buyers, system integrators, hardware and software developers an objective, easy-to-use tool to evaluate the performance-qualified battery life of notebook PCs across the wide range of activities that a user may encounter. The new release features support for Windows® 10 and localized GUI for German and Chinese.

MobileMark 2014 1.5 contains the 3rd generation auto-configuration tool first introduced in MobileMark 2014. The updated configuration tool executes automatically as part of the benchmark run, dramatically reducing occurrence of setup related errors, and helping to ensure consistent, repeatable results. Reporting is enhanced with improved Full Disclosure Report (FDR) formatting that emphasizes scoring and reference machine comparisons. Lower minimum system requirements ensure that MobileMark 2014 1.5 runs on broader categories of notebook PC systems. In addition, FDR’s can be browsed and submitted to the BAPCo online result database (results.bapco.com).

MobileMark 2014 1.5 reflects usage patterns of business users in the areas of office productivity and media creation using the most popular applications from each of their respective fields. Unlike benchmarks that only measure battery life, MobileMark measures battery life and performance simultaneously, showing how well a system design addresses the inherent trade-offs between performance and power management.

Flexible licensing options are now available for small business to enterprise organizations running 32 or 64-bit versions of Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Qualified government agency members may receive complimentary software through the BAPCo Government Network (www.bapco.com/bgn).

For over 24 years the BAPCo benchmarks have been used by PC OEMs, hardware and software developers, IT departments, system integrators, publishers and testing labs as well as Information technologists and computer industry analysts. BAPCo’s MobileMark 2014 1.5 builds upon its predecessors, utilizing the strongest and broadest development team in PC benchmark history. BAPCo’s membership represents the breadth of the computing industry and harnesses a consortium of experts.
