DENVER, March 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — ArtStir Denver 2015, voted Best New Festival by Westword Magazine in 2014, has announced a new partnership with VSA Colorado/Access Gallery, an inclusive nonprofit organization that engages the community by opening doors to creative, economic and educational opportunities for people with disabilities. ArtStir Denver will donate 20% of all sponsor dollars received (as well as 20% of event beverage sales) to VSA Colorado, and a portion of event programming will focus on inclusion of artists and audiences with disabilities.

Now in its third year, ArtStir Denver will be held over Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, at Denver Pavilions in Downtown Denver. The two-day arts event will feature more than 225 local and regional Colorado artists and crafters and will showcase a variety of works in painting, photography, illustration, textiles, furnishings, mixed media, and locally designed and handmade goods. The event will also offer art and style demonstrations and artist performances on its main stage, including creative presentations from artists representing VSA Colorado/Access Gallery. ArtStir is currently accepting applications from artists who would like to participate and from sponsors and community partners.

“We are excited to partner with ArtStir Denver, as one of our primary goals in working with artists with disabilities is to ensure that those facing challenges have complete access to community cultural facilities and activities,” said Damon McLeese, Executive Director of VSA Colorado/Access Gallery. “We are encouraged and inspired by ArtStir Denver’s commitment to making the event inclusive to our artist community.”

Also new to this year’s event will be the Colorado Craft Pavilion, a dedicated area offering food, craft beers and local wines presented by Hard Rock Cafe Denver. All new children’s and cultural activities will also take place in the plaza areas at Denver Pavilions, complemented by the return of the widely popular Horseshoe Market, located in the event’s North lot. The award-winning Horseshoe Market is recognized as Denver’s premiere indie craft market, featuring a unique brand of vintage and handmade vendors.

ArtStir Denver also has a strong partnership with AIGA Colorado, a nonprofit with a mission to advance design as a professional craft, strategic tool and vital cultural force. The event is currently accepting sponsors.

More than 100,000 attendees are expected to attend ArtStir Denver 2015, and on Saturday, May 23, the event will coincide with the popular Day of Rock concert event (www.denverdayofrock.com) along the 16th Street Mall, contributing to increased attendance and festivity throughout the weekend.
