August 7, 2015 | By Business Wire News

TOKYO

Ad-Sol Nissin (3837:TYO) and Lynx Software Technologies, Inc., announced today a new collaboration focused on providing highly secure solutions to the Japanese Market. Ad-sol Nissin and Lynx have worked together for over 20 years providing embedded solutions based on the LynxOS real-time operating system to top tier Japanese companies in the automotive, manufacturing, industrial, office automation and transportation markets. The new collaboration is focused around new secure technologies from Lynx and has been driven by the increasing demand for security solutions in Japan, especially among the social infrastructure associated with the growing Internet of Things (IoT) market.

The key technology from Lynx is the LynxSecure separation kernel hypervisor, which combines the highest levels of security with real-time performance and unique virtualization technology to offer end-to-end protection, from the endpoint, through the gateway and into the cloud.

“We have had a very long and fruitful relationship with Lynx, and this collaboration is a very exciting new chapter in the story and brings the two companies much closer together”, said Tomizo Ueda, President of Ad-Sol Nissin Corporation, “We see the combination of the unique security technologies from Lynx with our technical competencies and close relationship with major Japanese corporations as a premier solution to meet the ever growing security challenges faced in the Japanese market, especially around the IoT”

Ad-Sol Nissin will license the innovative LynxSecure technology to help build secure solutions for Japanese customers in both the IT and IoT areas, and will maintain a very tight collaboration with both Lynx and others security vendors with complementary technologies to LynxSecure. Other key components included in the collaboration include secure networking and storage technologies to help protect both data-in-motion and data-at-rest, and a unique Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) detection technology that uses the bare-metal privileged position of LynxSecure in a system to provide real-time early warning of cyber threats as they attempt to compromise the operating systems running above LynxSecure.

As part of the collaboration, Lynx will support Ad-Sol Nissin to form a security research and development center in San Jose, California, to take advantage of the close proximity of the security technologists from Lynx and to accelerate the building of secure solutions.

“We believe that this new partnership between the two companies will dramatically accelerate the adoption of truly secure solutions in Japan, and help protect both the country and its corporations from the next wave of cyber-attacks,”, said Gurjot Singh, CEO, Lynx Software Technologies. “We have seen how some very innovative security solutions can be built using our LynxSecure technology, and we believe that the Japanese customers, with the help of Ad-Sol Nissin can carry this trend forward in Japan”

About Internet of Things Security

As the world starts to connect everything to the Internet, giving access to billions of connected devices across the globe, it also opens up those devices to a new world of cyber threats.

Trying to add cyber protection to billions of connected devices, many of which are not even running an operating system, is a near impossible task. However, there is a point between the devices and the internet called the IoT Gateway that could be a key attack vector for malware, but could also be a key protection point for the IoT. Running LynxSecure on an IoT gateway can isolate key attack points from would-be cyber attackers, either by isolating different IoT communication streams from one another, or by separating the IoT sensor network from the Internet, which is the key attack entry point.

About LynxSecure

The award winning LynxSecure separation kernel hypervisor is a bare-metal architecture, designed by Lynx that differentiates from normal hypervisors by removing the un-needed functionality from the “security sensitive” hypervisor mode. By combining the best-of-breed capabilities of a separation kernel and virtualization, LynxSecure provides unmatched capabilities to run one or more guest OS using common hardware platforms, and provides one of the most flexible secure virtualization solutions for use in embedded and IT computer systems. Designed to maintain the highest levels of security and built-from-the-ground-up to achieve it, LynxSecure offers an industry-leading security without compromising functionality and flexibility , allowing developers and integrators to use the latest software and hardware technologies to build complex OS-based systems.
