More exhibits and more learning opportunities helped attract even more attendees to the 2000 Canadian Manufacturing Week event Sept. 26-28 at the International Centre in Mississauga. A total of 6,218 visitors from 3,192 companies–an attendance increase of four per cent–came to source new products and services, attend information seminars, and talk to technical experts.

Special features included 75 Technical & Information Product Sessions (TIPS) on three stages right on the show floor, educational workshops, a Lean Manufacturing Simulation and a working Interactive Warehouse.

“Attendees had more reason than ever to attend this year’s event,” said Dave Brown, group show manager for Reed Exhibitions Companies. “In one day they could meet with suppliers, source new product information and get a wide range of first-hand learning experiences.”

CMW 2000 featured three major shows–the Canadian Design Engineering Show, the Canadian Plant Engineering & Maintenance Show and the Canadian Facility Management & Maintenance Show–and three pavilion areas–an Environmental, Health & Safety Pavilion, a Supply Chain Management Pavilion and a Software Pavilion.

Three displays were honoured with Best Booth Awards: WheelMax (best single booth), Lapp Canada Inc. (best double booth) and Danfoss Inc. (best multiple booth).

The next CMW event will be held Sept. 24-26, 2002, at the same location.
