V.J. Pamensky Canada Inc. of Toronto, the exclusive Canadian importer of WEG electric motors, recently moved into a new head office and warehouse at 64 Samor Road in Toronto, not far from its previous premises on Orfus Road. The move coincides with the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Pamensky company.
Since the distributor’s launch, demand for the motors created a series of moves into successively larger premises and expansion across the country. The recent move has increased the warehouse and head office space from 40,000 sq ft to 62,000 sq ft and increased efficiency by having one Toronto warehouse location instead of two.
Today, the inventory of WEG electric motors in Canada is one of the largest electric motor inventories in the country, through warehouses in Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
“WEG’s 25 years of growth in Canada has come from a combination of a great product and a lasting partnership of dedicated people in Canada working with wonderful people in Brazil,” says founder Victor Pamensky.
The company was the vision of two men, Victor Pamensky, a lawyer who had recently arrived from South Africa, and Eggon da Silva, one of three partners of WEG Motores Brazil. The business was founded on the exclusive representation and distribution of WEG electric motors.
The original Pamensky location in 1977 consisted of 600 sq ft of space in a suburb of Toronto, and a staff of two. Today, in addition to supplying the right motor for the right application, round-the-clock emergency pick-up is available. As well, motors can be modified and customized to meet customer’s specifications.
Founded in Brazil in 1961, WEG is now the largest electric motor manufacturer in South America. It offers a full line of motors, ranging from fractional to 30,000 hp, for virtually any application. The WEG plant has implemented the ISO 9001 international standard, new motors are currently being introduced, and variable frequency drives also are available.
