Metabo Canada is currently celebrating its fifth year in Canada. The Metabo group, based in Germany, was founded in 1924 to design and manufacture quality tools for professional users. The company continues to produce safe, reliable and powerful power tools for the metal, wood and construction trades.
Metabo gained its reputation in Europe as a product innovator in the 1950s, inventing the first impact hammer drill in 1957. In 1966, the company became the first manufacturer to produce angle grinders with a safety clutch.
Today, it features its Marathon motor technology, which includes the armature winding-protection grid that extends tool life by up to five times that of other motors, and its STE105 jigsaw, which is powerful enough to cut a 4×4.
Its new BSP line of cordless drills is claimed to have the highest torque-to-weight ratios, the highest amp-hour nickel cadmium batteries and the most technologically advanced chargers on the market.
The company recently launched its new D handle DSD rotary tools. Designed to drill effortlessly through concrete, the BHED-24 and KHED-28 electro-pneumatic rotary hammers have such standard features as the Marathon motor, safety clutch, VTC electronic speed technology and quick chuck change system.
