Permatex has a new threadlocking product that puts an end to the messy liquid drips and solid stick globs that can be associated with traditional threadlocking applications. Its Threadlocker Gel, with the Gel Twist pin-point applicator, is made from a patent-pending formula that the company says is just as reliable and much easier to use than conventional liquid and solid stick threadlocking methods. It locks and seals, while preventing parts from loosening. It also protects threads from corrosion, cures in about 15 minutes and performs in a temperature range of -65F to 300F. The gel eliminates messy cleanups and waste, while the Gel Twist applicator places the gel precisely and works in hard-to-reach and vertical applications. Available in Medium Strength Blue Gel and High Strength Red Gel, the product was developed using hands-on MRO focus group testing.
