Leeson Electric has introduced a new line of stainless steel motors designed for long life in demanding washdown applications. The new Washguard SST motors are suited for the food processing and beverage industries. The line was developed in response to the recent appearance in the North American market of lesser quality imported stainless steel motors. The Washguard SST motor line offers features above and beyond these other motors at a competitive price. Bulletin 1520 provides a detailed feature comparison. A full-fact nameplate is laser-etched into the motor frame, so there are no nameplate rivet holes to allow leakage to the inside of the motor, nor Mylar nameplates to peel off when washed down. Oversized, double-sealed bearings are pre-lubricated with moisture-resistant, high-temperature grease. The motors are UL, CSA, and CE listed. Sizes range from 1/3 to 2 hp at 1,750 and 3,450 rpm.
