Managers from five firms with offices in B.C. and Alberta joined 20 Ontario-based companies and three from Quebec to staff the manufacturer booths at the Manufacturer-Distributor Idea Exchange (MD-IDEX) tabletop show at the PTDA’s annual meeting in Atlanta last month.
B.C. and Alberta also were the home provinces of seven distributor delegates, who joined seven from Ontario, six from Quebec and three from New Brunswick to attend the annual meeting and related events.
The Canadian turnout, which is usually quite large at the association’s annual meetings, was reduced this year for three main reasons — it was the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in Canada, the market for industrial products has been tightening so some firms have cut back on travel, and, of course, there were a few who changed their travel plans because of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in the U.S..
We were able to capture a few candid pictures of those who participated in the PTDA’s MD-IDEX trade show. All photos were taken by Charles Huguley for Machinery & Equipment MRO.
