It was one cheque Robert Landry, mechanical superintendent for Smurfit-Stone in New Richmond, Que., was happy to see awarded. As the winner of the NSK Community Cash-In promotion, Landry chose the Quebec City chapter of Fondation En Coeur as the recipient of NSK’s $5,000 donation.

He chose the charity with good reason: The Fondation En Coeur is a non-profit organization helping families of children with heart disease. Landry’s daughter, Batrice, has undergone multiple oper-ations and En Coeur has given their support to the family for many years.

Bill Childers, president of NSK Canada, Mississauga, Ont., made the presentation to En Coeur at the Centre Hospitalier de l’Universite Laval in Quebec City recently. Childer praised the foundation, adding, “It is our sincere hope that this cheque can help make a difference in enabling caregivers to improve the lives of children with heart disease.”

NSK Canada is a member of the NSK Ltd. Group of companies headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. As one of the world’s leading bearing manufacturers, the company produces and distributes over 100,000 different types of bearings, linear motion, and automotive component products.
