The Trellchem Freeflow chemical protective suit from Trelleborg operates without a heavy breathing apparatus and breathing mask. Instead, the operator breathes free air supplied from an external source via a pass-through valve at the back of the suit. The valve’s integrated alarm system warns if there is a problem with the air supply, which is safeguarded using two diffusers in the hood. The diffusers also function as silencers. A high rate of air flow ensures that the CO2 level is maintained at a safe level. The suit is useful in such areas as the nuclear, chemical or pharmaceutical industries, where a high degree of protection during long working hours is required.
