Igus specializes in developing high-performance, low-cost polymer bearing materials with a longer service life, higher resistance to wear and a lower coefficient of friction than PTFE-coated or bronze bearings. The company offers a number of material blends, enabling its bearings to be used in a wide variety of different industries, including packaging, food manufacturing, material handling and automotive production. Iglide plastic plain bearings are lubrication-free and so require zero maintenance. In addition, they are corrosion-and chemical-resistant, and vibration dampening. A predictable linear wear rate ensures that they will never catastrophically fail.
