NTN Bearing Corporation of Canada Ltd. has announced plans to build a new, expanded corporate headquarters.
Official groundbreaking ceremonies for the new Canadian corporate head office and distribution centre were held late June at the 3.75-acre construction site at on Courtneypark Dr. W. in Mississauga, Ont.
The new corporate head office will be a two-storey, 70,000 sq ft building that will include a state-of-the-art warehouse management system. The new facility will provide a 33 per cent increase in warehouse and distribution capacity.
The distribution centre has been designed to support national distribution of all NTN products across Canada and will employ a new order selection system that will fill customer orders with high-tech speed, efficiency and accuracy, the company says.
The new facility is scheduled for completion by the end of 2003.
NTN, which was founded in 1918, manufactures bearings and constant velocity joints. The company’s sales offices span five continents with 48 sales offices located in 15 countries and 23 manufacturing facilities located within North America, Europe and Asia.
It started operations in Canada in 1968 with a 30,000 sq ft facility in Rexdale, Ont., relocating to its current location in Mississauga in 1987. That facility, expanded in 1994, is now 60,000 sq ft in size.
