Hamilton, ON — Mohawk College now offers specialized sector-specific leadership training in the field of industrial distribution. The program was created as part of the Industrial Careers Pathway initiative conceived by the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) and established in partnership with Electro-Federation Canada (EFC), the Canadian Fluid Power Association (CFPA) and more than a dozen other industry associations.

The program is intended for individuals working with the industrial distribution and manufacturing sectors who have responsibilities for key customer accounts and client relations.

This training offers programming in key skill sets, including business principles, operational awareness, client service principles and leadership training/coaching. The first ‘Industrial Distribution Leadership Certificate Program’ (IDLCP) is listed in the current course calendar. The program is a 180-hour certificate program with six 30-hour courses.

One course in the program, Business Fundamentals, is an overview course with a module on economics and pricing principles and practices; it is being taught by Ted Chisholm, vice-president of finance and IT with BDI Canada Inc., Mississauga, ON.
