Thanks to its multiplexed single-cable bus, the Vibronet rotating machinery condition monitoring system reduces hardware and installation costs. The intelligent master unit controls switching among up to 36 sensors per multiplexer string, connected by only one single cable. A rugged three-in-one accelerometer design cuts sensor costs by measuring vibration spectra, bearing condition and pump cavitation with the same transducer. Coaxial cable connection is simple yet robust: the standard RG58 cable is inserted into the sensor and secured with two twists of a locking nut. A Microsoft Windows-based PC program allows on-line trending, alarm notification and diagnosis of all data, including temperature, rpm, pressure, etc. The system also can function independently in stand-alone mode, passing values via modem to a central consultant for remote troubleshooting.
