Automatic lubricator ideal for hard-to- reach bearings

The Greasomatic automatic lubricator can help reduce the frequency and cost of manual lubrication and assure bearings are lubricated correctly, even in hard-to-reach areas. The lubricator attaches to bearings and contains the appropriate lubricant for each application. Engineering data and technical guidance are available from the supplier in Whitby, Ont.

New synthetic lubricants aimed at severe duty applications

Loctite ViperLube is a new line of synthetic lubricants composed of synthetic polyalphaolefin base stocks that are specifically formulated to provide protection in grueling environments in severe duty industrial applications where there is high temperatures and humidity. It has exceptional mechanical and thermal stability, high load carrying capability, and excellent resistant to rust, corrosion and water. The line consists of NLGI Grade 2/Severe Duty GC-LB Grease, a 90w Gear Oil and a 10w Lightweight Oil. All products are NSF H1 rated for incidental food contact.

Centralized lube system maintains machine performance

A centralized lubrication system with adjustable oil and grease feeders is available from Farval Lubrication Systems. Called ExtactoServe, this system uses positive displacement volumetric output injectors to deliver precise amounts of oil or grease to machinery friction points. Four basic injector models covering a broad discharge range are offered. Users can lubricate small, medium and large bearings on machines with a single lube point or hundreds of points. The injectors operate in normal and harsh, wet, dusty environments.

Lubrication management software saves time, money

A software solution that allows complete automation of the lubrication management process is available from Dow Corning as support for its Molykote lubrication management program. SurveyView and Lube-It lubrication management software is designed specifically for industrial lubrication management, rather than general plant maintenance routines. The software can track, schedule and plan routes for thousands of lubrication operations in manufacturing and industrial plant sites for accurate, cost-effective maintenance. Savings result from efficiencies in time management as well as information to help minimize lubricant inventories and human error. Operation of this user-friendly, flexible software is mainly through windows, drop-down menus, point-and-click and drag-and-drop steps. No computer or database expertise is needed.

Oils and greases are food grade approved

Chevron food manufacturing lubricating oils and greases are accepted by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for use in registered plants and are approved as Kosher and Pareve. FM series lubricating oils deliver anti-wear and rust protection properties in environments where incidental contact with food may occur. FM greases are odourless, tasteless and water resistant, and are ideal where sling out reduction is needed and excellent pumpability is important.

Oil cleaning system extends equipment life

The Kleentek electrostatic oil cleaning system cuts maintenance problems by drawing all insoluble contaminants, including tars and varnishes, from oil and trapping them on the surface of the collector. In this way, repeated oil changes and system downtime are avoided. Both submicronic particles and large contaminants are removed from any non-conductive liquid. Housed within a stainless steel chamber, the collector is made of disposable cellulose fibre and is pleated . Collectors can hold as much as 10 lb before a change is required and can operate for 2,000 hours to 10,000 hours, depending on the application. This compact system is modular in design, allowing it to be field-mounted as a dedicated unit. Units also can be used on a rotational basis.
