The Swedish company Damalini offers a laser-based measurement tool, the Easy-Laser BTA Compact, for quick and easy alignment of belt and chain drives. Economically priced at half that of its predecessor, this easy-to-use tool attaches with magnets to one of the sheaves and generates a bright red laser line parallel to the sheave. On the other sheave, two targets are placed, showing the misalignment in both horizontal and vertical directions. One of the machines is then adjusted so that the laser beam lies in the centre of the targets.
