Industry Summit A Highlight Of The Year For PTDA Members

Miami, FL — Top executives in the power transmission/motion control (PT/ MC) industry gathered to network and build business relationships at the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) Industry Summit, held Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, 2008, in Miami Beach, FL.

For 2008, the forum for bringing together PT/MC distributors and manufacturers had the theme: Ride the Wave to Success. The event attracted more than 825 participants, including 197 distributors and 370 manufacturers, and international delegates from 18 different countries.

During the meeting, the association elected its 2009 board of directors and Manufacturer Council. Drew Tucci, director, marketing and sales, Eastern Bearings Inc., Waltham, MA, was elected to succeed John Masek, vice-president, Bearing Service Inc., Livonia, MI, as PTDA’s president for the coming year.

Bob Daniel, general sales manager, The Timken Company, Canton, OH, assumed the duties of the PTDA Manufacturer Council chair in 2009, succeeding Bob Ruland, president, Ruland Manufacturing Co. Inc., Marlborough, MA.

The Summitt also saw Doug Savage, president, Bearing Service Inc., Livonia, MI, named the 19th recipient of PTDA’s Warren Pike Award for lifetime achievement in the power transmission/motion control industry.
