In the next issue

The December issue of Machinery & Equipment MRO will focus on Innovators in the Industrial Supply Chain, with profiles of several distributors who are making a mark with maintenance customers through exceptional service and technical expertise.

As well, we’ll bring you another case history about a CMMS installation. You’ll read about Bob Hill, a plant’s walking maintenance encyclopedia. Turns out, it was an article in this magazine about how a CMMS revolutionized the way maintenance was done at another plant that stirred his interest. The consultant who helped with the software setup says: “One important thing to realize is that Bob didn’t purchase this program because of downtime. He just didn’t want to lose the information.”

Support equipment at this plant now gets the attention it deserves, weekend repairs have been cut by half, the computer tells everyone where to find all of the parts without having to track down Hill (as was the case before), and his staff are more independent.
