Three new hose assembly crimpers have been introduced by Dayco. They include the capability to crimp larger hoses and have a simplified design for easier operation. Models DE30, DE60 and DE100 are designed to withstand frequent use in the fabrication of a variety of hose assemblies in the shop or on the jobsite. They include an easy-to-use manual gauging mechanism for increased accuracy and all but the DE30 have a simplified controller featuring a built-in circuit breaker and emergency stop switch.

Caged design reduces typical roller guide drawbacks

Overcoming several drawbacks of roller guides, the THK Type SRG caged roller guide, an industry first, incorporates an elastomeric cage to isolate rollers. The design eliminates roller-to-roller contact and roller skewing. Other benefits include lower heat, friction and noise because there is no metal-to-metal contact. As well, operating speeds and product life are increased. The roller guide uses technology found in THK’s Caged Ball linear motion guides.

Bearing boasts exceptional operating life

Here’s an Explorer that has no tire troubles. It’s the name for a new SKF spherical roller bearing that offers improved performance and life expectancy. It will last up to three times longer than any other spherical bearing on the market today, the company claims. SKF researchers say they have unlocked secrets deep within the structure of the steel and hidden in the geometry of the rollers, cages and raceways, allowing them to make improvements at the micro level. The bearing is already in use in Canadian applications, SKF reports. Other benefits of the Explorer include less noise, increased uptime and reduced maintenance costs.

Couplings work at high speeds

Vibration dampening, low intertia and time-saving assembly are features of Trasco ES backlash-free couplings made by SIT S.p.A of Italy for high precision steppers, encoders, pulse generators and servos. The couplings consist of two aluminum or steel hubs connected with a pre-compressed polyurethane interface called a spider. The couplings work at high speeds and over a wide range of operating temperatures and loads.

Bearing grease is for tough environments

Fahrenheit 800 Bearing Gel, engineered to outperform conventional bearing greases under extreme conditions, is effective from minus 35F to 750F (-37C to +399C) and readily handles extreme temperature swings. Resistant to cold, hot or salt water, it stands up to most detergents, chemicals and aggressive plant environments. It is said to outlast conventional greases by up to 10 times. It also is USDA H1 and Kosher/Halal approved for food applications.
