Weg’s new IEEE 841-2001 NEMA Premium motor exceeds IEEE 841-2001 efficiency ratings and is suited for pulp and paper mills, as well petrochemical plants and steel mills where a severe-duty motor is needed. The IEEE 841-2001 motor has an epoxy polyamide enamel anti-corrosion finish (Weg’s special Paint Plan 202) and also features regreasable bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, cast iron fan cover, and an IP55 degree of protection. Specialty features include the Weg labyrinth seal, which, with an IP65 degree of protection, exceeds the requirements of IEEE 841 Non-Contact Rotating Seal requirements. Several optional features are available. Sizes range from 1 hp to 500 hp, three-phase, 60 Hz, 230V, 460V or 575V TEFC.
