The story of the Fan Guys and how they came to possess their amazing superhuman powers is shrouded in mystery.

But like a detective at a crime scene who discovers a bit of string here, a gum wrapper there, or a pad of paper that reveals a message with the shading of a pencil, I, your narrator and guide, have been able to piece together the story…

Orphaned as children from four different parents, they were adopted by a kindly couple who ran a Deep Fried Sushi bar.

During the day they played together in the streets of their newly adopted city, Winnepegoppolis. At night they slept in the one-room apartment over top their parents’ restaurant. A single fan in the middle of the room soothed the young orphans to sleep…

As they grew older they worked alongside their parents. In the evenings they would go to the auto-wrecker and engage in junk-yard wars.

One day, at the junk-yard, they came upon a industrial fan. They discovered that by connecting it to an Austin Mini engine they could use it cool their parents’ restaurant. Business tripled. From then on their life was changed. Fans became their focus.

This is where the story begins…

It was a dark night. The lads decided to do a little late night paddling in Roswell National Park.

When they started, the lake was as calm as glass — but that changed suddenly. Directly overhead, a huge ominous thundercloud formed.

As the terrified technicians raced to shore, they felt the tiny hairs on their arms starting to stand – the unmistakable sign of a static charge building! It could be only one thing – lightning!

In an instant, a blinding light lit the sky and a huge lightning bolt struck the aluminium canoe…

… as it came down (luckily for the guys), a UFO was passing directly above, absorbing most of the charge! Fortunately the space ship occupants where unharmed, but…

… in an incredible coincidence, at that precise instant the captain of the alien ship was tuning his radio to a Gamma Quadrant radio station!

Ordinarily the partially absorbed lightning strike, coupled with the plutons from the ship’s hyper-drive, would only give the guys a nasty headache. But since the radio was also being tuned to an All Mutant Rock Station (where their slogan is “All Mutant, All Day!”) a beam – able to make radical

changes in DNA – was created…

… and highly charged mutated

plasma particles coursed through the guys. Since they were – as usual, thinking of fans at the time – their entire genetic makeup was rewritten. Each was endowed with unique and superhuman fan-related powers!
