The expansion of its facility has enabled Avon Bearings to produce bearings up to 6.1 m (240 in.) in diameter. Its previous capacity was limited to 3.3 m (130 in.). Common applications for these larger bearings include tunnel-boring equipment, marine cranes, mining shovels, stacker reclaimers, ladle turrets for the steel industry, ship loaders and unloaders, and portal cranes. Each bearing is custom designed and manufactured. The company also has a remanufacturing service, which repairs ball and roller bearings regardless of the original manufacturer.
