Triple M Metal of Brampton, Ont., the country’s largest processor of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, has announced plans to build a state-of-the-art aluminum remelt plant.

The company will invest $65 million into building the Greenfield plant, which will operate under the name Matalco Inc.

The 110,000 sq ft plant will be located on a 14-acre industrial property in Brampton and will house manufacturing equipment, finished product storage and offices. A total of 50 new jobs will be created once the plant is fully operational by the end of 2005.

Matalco will produce primary-quality aluminum billets from scrap aluminum and press scrap for extruders across North America. Annual production capacity will be 200 million lb, making it the largest plant of its kind in Canada.
